Martial Arts

If you are looking to start martial arts training or coming from another dojo, we are excited you are here! Our focus principles for all our students are:

Respect

Integrity

Perseverance

Self-Control

Commitment

We teach a variety of martial arts that include kickboxing and Krav Maga. Training in Krav Maga increases physical fitness levels by working on strength, coordination, balance and stamina. This is achieved through proper and consistent training with the understanding that students’ progress at their own pace. Our goal is to teach self defense with a sense of confidence and heightened awareness of your surroundings. Listed below is a little more about each style of martial arts we offer.

Styles Taught

Kickboxing

Kickboxing is a combination of using kicking and punching techniques to display superior skills in both defense and attack. It is a full contact sport and, as well as being skillful at striking with both your hands and feet, we train to be extremely fit and flexible, as some of the most effective techniques are kicks to the head.

Krav Maga

Krav Maga is the art of understanding the only way to stop an assailant is with the use of force. Individuals must move from being passive as a defender to becoming an aggressor as quickly as possible.

I am so incredibly disappointed with Hampton Fitness.I signed up for a 16 week fitness challenge which started out... just fine, but quickly went down hill. The "hype" gentleman that signed up my group made lots of promises, but came through on none of them. The folks that work there seem pretty nice ... but that's not nearly enough when the things they said would happen, simply DID NOT. I guess the thought is that if they tell you what you want to hear then they gotcha (that happened in my case and I highly suspect I am not alone). A complete and total disappointment! There is such an incredible lack of communication. I have called multiple times to the folks that take your money with no reply. I have emailed and tried to communicate with the facility itself, but again, absolutely no response. I would have been happy with any kind of response from anyone! I am a reasonable person, and not one with high expectations, but there was nothing! I feel cheated and therefor feel the need to put this out there. Like another review I read, they have continued to take my money but have absolutely no interest at all in returning my phone calls nor emails. COMMUNICATION FOLKS...it just must be too much to ask. Now I will pay the fee to my bank as the only way to get the auto pay to stop. Please Beware of what you sigh up for people because the bottom line is they want your business (your money).read more

I also signed up for a 16 week challenge and have found it to be extremely rewarding. I have met my goals, and will... continue here for the rest of the year. I have been greeted with respect and smiles every time, and they have been very fare and flexible to me and my needs. My son is also a student in the Martial Arts class with Sensei Chris. He is an amazing teacher, and wonderful with his students.I'm very much grateful to the owner's and staff for helping me and my son become better versions of ourselves.read more

I signed up for a challenge group that had specifics during the informational meeting, that were not met. I tried... calling and emailing multiple times with zero response. I spoke to the office manager, who had me talk to Andrew. None of my questions or concerns were addressed. I turned in my gym key and a notice of cancelation. I am still being charged and not getting answers. Make sure whatever you sign up for is in writing and is very clear, because you more than likely will not receive what you pay for.read more

This is the gym we needed in Sherwood. Chris, the owner and trainer, is super friendly, professional, and... non-judgmental. Both my wife and I train with him, and our son takes karate with him. Chris met me where I was at, which could be described as "fat and slow". He set me up with an intense (for me anyway) but totally achievable training and diet program and personally conducts training sessions with me twice a week. He's great at what he does, he's super encouraging but still pushes me really hard. I cannot recommend him enough.read more

I have been working with Sensei Chris for several months. He has been great. He is very knowledgeable not only in... martial arts but he knows the muscles in the body and that allows him to adjust around my bad knees and shoulders. There is no doubt i have gained strength back in both and continue to see progress. As for martial arts he shows respect for where you are at while pushing you enough and not letting you slack off. Always leave feeling better than when i walked in and looking forward to the next class.read more

Chris has been amazing with my personal training. I will tell him where I'm weak or if I struggle and he works with me... with exercises that will build my strength without complete failure. And it is never the same! He will always keep the exercises different so that the body never gets use to a specific exercise. My endurance has dramatically increased along with muscle definition without looking bulky. My daughter also participates in the martial arts class and she has been loving every bit of it. She loves making new friends but she has gotten stronger and she has more confidence knowing she can defend herself. He teaches discipline and honesty which plays a huge part at home.Overall, a perfect gym that isn't corporate ran or full of employees who don't know how to really help improve your gym routines. It definitely feels like a private gym without a huge price tag. I highly recommend Hampton Fitness for anyone looking for a family friendly gym to help you achieve any health goal.read more

Highly recommend Hampton Fitness and Martial Arts. Chris’s training is life changing. He challenges and entertains as... he transforms your mind and body. I am more confident and physically fit then ever before. If there’s a move you don’t quite get, he creates a new direction to make it make sense. Every week, I am able to do something I couldn’t do the week before. It’s a great investment in yourself!read more
